At the very least, expect some staining and marginal fraying or discoloration. The sheets were bound along the top edge, so that some 270 years of use would naturally result in some staining along the bottom edge from hand oil and sweat by eager page turners, especially at the lower left corner of each sheet. When framing these sheets, the mat will cover many of these flaws. I have tried to note those that intrude within the printed border around the image. These engravings were cut from their bound volumes along the top edge, so some unevenness along the top is to be expected, as are minor variances in the height of each sheet. Each sheet is approximately 12"h x 18-¾"w.There are darkening and staining at the sides and bottom, mostly outside the image area except at right edge; also, soiling from handling at bottom right and center, at border;”
