About this product

Product Information

Following the success of 1998's PC version, the multi-game compilation Intellivision Lives! makes its PlayStation 2 debut with more than 50 playable titles originally designed for Mattel's classic console. Rather than simply choose games from a list, players can navigate their way across a 3D pizza parlor filled with icons of the 1980s, including neon signs, a jukebox that plays Intellivision music, as well as a number of arcade cabinets lining the walls. Each cabinet houses a different genre, such as space, sports, and more, with the coin-op game's screen serving as the interface. Developer Realtime Associates, which produced original INTV Corp. titles during the waning years of the console, designed the emulation software used to re-create the games on PlayStation 2. The process for creating the compilation was overseen by Intellivision Productions' own Keith Robinson and Stephen Roney, who ensured each emulated title mirrored the originals as closely as possible.

    Shark Shark makes this game worth buying alone

    I played this when I was a teenager and learned about these games that are on it. I loved several of the games! Shark Shark is the one I remember easily loving and great news.. Somebody made a perfect version of Shark Shark 2 with new updates and features! It's great! Buy this PS2 game for the original games at a great price. Look up Shark Shark 2 on YouTube to learn about that new one. :)

    Intellivision Lives! on Playstation 2 - Buy or not?

    What's to like or dislike about it? It's an ancient technology game used on more advanced technology equipment. If you like memorabilia, it's for you. Brings back memories. I like that stuff sometimes. Won't make it into a habit, though. Overall, a good product, and glad it was transferred into a CD. Wish, though, a larger selection of games were included instead of the extras. Maybe DVD in the future? Control of some games are difficult on the Playstation, confusing at best. Would I buy it again? As is, probably not.

    Intellivision Lives! -- for the Playstation 2

    All of my old favorites were right there. I even got my teenage son to stop playing his blood, guts, and gore first-person-shooter games and such to play me a few multiplayer games from the 'old days'. He actually goes back into the games on his own from time to time and LIKES a few of them. My only complaint, is that the '+9 enabled' buttons don't seem to work with some games that are supposed to use them. Don't get me wrong, you press the 'select' button on the controller and there it is in all it's glory, a semi-transparent image of the old Intellivision controller with the proper 'overlay' for the game covering the keypad. The games are still very playable, just a bit awkward at times when you need to keep switching controller ...
