About this product

Product Information

DNA as the genetic material is a topic of intense interest in the 21st century with the familiar and iconic Watson-Crick double helix having a vital importance for its function. However, there are further complexities beyond the double helix, including supercoiling, knotting and catenation, that are less widely appreciated and understood but which are critical to its function. This book explains these topological aspects of DNA structure in a clear and approachable style that will be appreciated by both students and researchers interested in DNA structure and function.

Received the magazine as pictured and described! It was a bit delayed due to a bad winter storm in my area, however the seller was quick to communicate back with me when it hadn't arrived on time. They sent me the tracking number to keep an eye out for it and even offered to inquire into the package for me if it didn't arrive by a certain date. Overall a great experience by the seller :)

  • Clear, concise, and elegant

First, the book is compact, which means a lot of unnecessary subjects were not covered in the text. Instead the primary focus is strictly on the topological properties of DNA. Second, the book is well written and much of the confusion jargon is not used. The concepts are clearly defined and explained to a point where an undergrad in the first semester of biology should understand at least 50% of the material. Third, the mathematical equations used were not overly complex. This enhanced the simplicity and elegance of the biological theories being presented. In conclusion, I would recommend this to anyone intending to study the effects of topoisomerase on the three dimensional structure of DNA.
