About this product

Product Information

Sometimes evil lingers so close, you can feel it.... Seattle police sketch artist Maggie Barnes has an extraordinary gift. She listens as traumatized crime victims describe their ordeals -- and then uses those horrifying recollections to draw dead-on sketches of the assailants. Some cops think Maggie is telepathic, that she can actually enter the victims' minds. Only Maggie knows the truth behind her rare talent ... and she isn't telling. But her secret may be exposed when a madman seizes Seattle in his terrifying grip. He abducts women and blinds them, leaving them barely alive. The police have one hope: the lone victim who might recover her sight. But they don't know that Maggie has her own dark connection to the monster -- an eerie link that may stretch back to a string of unsolved murders. To stop the escalating terror, Maggie will have to push her abilities to the breaking point -- even if it means confronting a predator whose powers seem to have no bounds....

Seller did their part. FED EX dropped the ball here. The package was on the truck for 3 days before it was finally delivered to completely the wrong apartment. The picture they took of where they left the package is NOT my apartment. I wandered all around my vicinity trying to find where they left it to no avail. I hope whoever gets the package is honest and will return it to me. No fault of the seller. Although, FED EX has done this exact thing before and I would not recommend using them.

The seller was great, but the shipping company broke the item. The seller was very prompt to respond to this problem, and made things right immediately. The item, if it was not broken in transit, appeared to be exactly as listed. The seller's pricing was very good as well. I will definitely consider purchasing from this seller again.

Everything was good but the lack of a serious anti bend board bothered me. It was not marked "Do not bend" and the packaging only had one thin comic board inside with the book. I lucked out that it didn't get folded. Shipping was slowish, but that was most likely media mail and the usps, so I won't count that against the seller. Other than that one issue, all was well. Item was as described and arrived safe. An easy transaction. Thanks.

  • An Early Bishop's Special Crime Unit Novel

Having read some of Kay Hooper's later SCU novels, I can see how she has grown and evolved as a writer and I have to say I think her later ones are better. But, I would still recommend this book to anyone who enjoys these. It was a very scary book. There were lots of characters and they were all interesting. It makes you hope that they turn up in other books and you get to know them better. The down side to having so many characters is I didn't feel like the main couple got to be as fully developed as I might have liked. But if you enjoy the paranormal mixed with crime, this is a very good read. Enjoy!

  • touching evil by kay hooper

I bought this book to finish up my set. I love her books trying to figure out who the murderer is. Once you pick up one of these books you don't want to stop reading until you've finished the whole story. I would recommend them to any one who loves murder mysteries.

  • Touching Evil by Kay Hooper

Am reading this book now and find it difficult to put it down. I've read several of her books and have enjoyed every one of them. Kay Hooper is an excellent writer when it comes to excitement and mystery.
