Hilarious TV Comedy! The Sitcom that Started it All
This is a very excellent DVD set. There are plenty of extras included. Look for the TV promos and commercials. As well as the interviews. Season One is chocked full of funny bits, sketches, clowning around and overall just plain good entertainment. While many of the funny situations have now become standardized throughout many of today's shows, with no real effort made into making them work, the Dick Van Dyke show is still fresh and funny as the day it lit up television sets way back in 1962. What else would you expect from the writer of Cid Caesar's Your Show of Shows, Carl Reiner. Make sure you take breaks between shows, or you might bust at the seams. My family almost did. Look for two dream sequences, the human joke machine and as a nice surprise, another TV favorite, a very young ... This is a very excellent DVD set. There are plenty of extras included. Just perfect!
Nobody did comedy like Dick Van Dyke and crew. This DVD is a fabulous walk down memory lane and primer for comedy writing. I mean look at the hysterical consequences of "The Curious Thing About Women", or the humor and pathos of "Where you been, Fassbinder", and lets not forget that within the laughs we get drop dead surprises like the ballad in "The Twizzle". You gotta get this! Just to enjoy or to learn, it's a gem! And the extras give even greater insights! Buy! Buy! Buy!!!Nobody did comedy like Dick Van Dyke and crew. The Dick Van Dyke Show - Season One
You can't go wrong with this title. It mixes talented actors and excellent writers and directors. Every show is funny even if it might be a little out dated. Family values good character and men not afraid to be men, make for a great combination for anyone. This is a must buy for anyone who wants to laugh at life and see how to laugh at situations you face.
