the book was listed as new but it wasn't wrapped in plastic. the edges of the book are stained and it had remains of a sticker from Half Priced Books. Luckily the cost of the book is less than other places even with the shipping cost but it should have been listed as Used. The book was well packaged and arrived promptly.

  • Book review

I first read this book from the library and then thought it would make a great Christmas gift for my 90 yr old mother. I went to ebay to find a copy. Mom lived through the war as a young woman and married my Dad a survivor and Silver Star winner on Guadalcanal. My Mother also was a woman marine. I thought it might bring back memories of how things were and she enjoyed the relationship among the characters in the family. I am waitting to hear her review.

  • So True to Life!

The characters are very well developed, as is the story line; for someone who likes to really immerse myself into a story, this one was close to the top of my list. I truly felt that I was living in the 1940's while reading this; it was a "cruel shock" to have to put the book down and return to "real life", in our era!

  • Title has a mystic to it

The story was a page turner but had a very unusual ending. Made for good, light reading as Berg's books tend to be . . . I watch for her new ones to come out.
