    Ryobi a Cut Above

    The hedge trimmer is well built like all of Ryobi's products. I use it to trim the ice plant around the front planters and the bouganvilla. It works really great. You might consider getting the 18 inch long trimmer if you need a longer blade.

    RYOBI Grass Shears - Poor Design

    The grass shears froze up and stopped working after 15 minutes. Took the grass shears apart and noticed that the factory lube only lasts 15 minutes because the teeth are pressed way too tight together and generate too much friction. Used needle nose pliers to slightly bend up the moving teeth to lessen the pressure and friction. Re-lubed the shears with white lithium grease and they seem to be working OK now. Don't want to return this item because I would not want another one and it seems to be working.

    Love them! Works perfect for me!

    Love them! Perfect for me! When my husband used the weed-wacker around my flower beds, grass would always get in them. Now I can use my cordless trimmer, which are light weight and easy to use, works great and looks wonderful when I am done. Would highly recommend them.

    Quality built, but lacks power

    Not very good at cutting shrubs. It doesn't have enough power even with the largest available battery (4a). It does OK for grass around fences and such, but the power on the shrub trimmer is just not there. If you are just trimming thin brush, it might work, but anything over 1/8 of an inch around , it's useless . Worst ryobi tool I own.

    It is light weight and well constructed. Caveat is that the batteries you use will determine how well the unit performs; i.e. old tired batteries will lose charge quickly and cycle only a couple minutes of prime cutting time.
