History lite, with great music and acting!
Powerful story, told beautifully with engaging, foot-tapping and affecting music. Madonna is just excellent, so perfect in her role as Eva Peron! I was never much of a Madonna fan but her portrayal of Evita blew me away. Jonathan Pryce was also excellent, as was Antonio Banderas as Che, the story's narrator. Sure, there is a good deal of poetic license, but you know a musical about the Perons is sure to be history lite. It will get you thinking about their times, their "reign" and will probably send you to the internet to search for more info, and isn't that a good thing! Stupendous Movie Version and So Worth It!
This version of Evita, as a big screen movie, is the most involved adaptation and the delivery by the actors is memorable and moving. The scenes envelop the viewer and emotional buy-is immediate. So much to feel and experience.
