About this product

Product Information

Six ancient warriors have been brought together to fulfill an ancient prophecy; one that will determine the destiny of the land. Each barbarian will engage in brutal combat to determine who is worthy enough to be called "WeaponLord." Zarak the DemonLord is very interested in the outcome of the tournament, which is why he sponsored it to begin with. It has been written that the WeaponLord will defeat him during battle and end his evil reign. Of course, prophecies can be interpreted to mean different things. Zarak hopes to alter destiny by crushing the newly crowned WeaponLord before fate takes hold.

WeaponLord is a fighting game with seven large, detailed characters using edged weapons in one-on-one combat. Three play modes include Story, Arcade and Versus, where you will be able to challenge a friend. Each warrior has ten special moves including devastating "death blows" that will graphically depict decapitations, disembowelments, and other bloody demises. Not for the squeamish!

This game has a special place in my heart. I remember it was one of the last games I bought for the Sega before moving up to the PS1. Back in the mid 90's Street Fighter was all the rage and in it's wake 100's of these SF clones were made. Most were pretty forgettable though some were pretty good in their own right. This was definitely what I would call a sleeper hit. At the time it wasn't taken very well by critics and within good reason on some points, mostly the sloppy feel of the controls. It was tough to get use too and backwards from most fighters of the day which you could pick up on quick, this one took some getting use to. Also you only get 8 characters to choose from which is small compared to other rosters on fighter games back then. So a small cast and funky controls left most ...

  • 5 stars for weaponlord

i have enjoyed weaponlord the grapics on good for the sega genesis,i recently bought myself a genesis console,i had given my old one to a friend,s child a few years ago.anyway this game is enjoyable and kinda hard as well.

  • WeaponLord FTW

Very fun fighting game for the 16 bit era, so sad that this game didn't get a lot love like it should, would have loved to see a remake or a sequel. This game is Street Fighter, Mortal Kombat and Samurai Shodown put all in one and is a very overlooked gem of a fighter.
