Closet Hall & Oates Fan Loves Christmas Album
Being the music hipster that I am, it's sometimes hard for me to utter, "I love Hall & Oates", in public. You know, they're old, they're cheesy, they're not The Clash, they're not The Dears, whatever. But this album will make it easier for me to say those words in the future. In their ever-endearing "white soul" way, the guys take some old Christmas stardards and re-work them so that they simultaneaously keep their holiday nostalgia and still end up sounding very much like smooth and romantic signature H&O tunes. And, unlike so many other recent holiday albums, H&O's original tunes found on the album are solid and creative. As the music world starts to move away from the sampling, plageristic nonsense known as "Hip Hop" and back towards the singer/songwriter days of the Seventies, look for ... Great CD for traditional Christmas music with a nice "twist" but still wonderful sound. Now one of my favorite top 10 Christmas CDs! So glad I found it online, I have been searching stores for it!

I ATTENDED A HALL AND OATES CHRISTMAS CONCERT PRIOR TO THE HOLIDAY AND WAS SO IMPRESSED WITH THEIR RENDITION OF THESE SONGS I JUST HAD TO HAVE THE ALBUM.I COULD HAVE BOUGHT IT PRIOR TO THE CONCERT BUT I WAS SOMEWHAT HESITANT.AFTER IT WAS OVER I COULD'VE KICKED MYSELF.ANYWAY, I COULD NOT FIND IT IN THE STORES AND WAS DELIGHTED TO FIND IT ON E-BAY WHEREAS I BOUGHT IT IMMEDIATELY. I LIKE IT BECAUSE IT IS SO DIFFERENT. Who would think that after all these years Hall & Oates would offer a holiday album? It's absolutely wonderful. This is not some cheap disc thrown in at the end of the year to cash in on some seasonal bucks. This is a well thought out effort and stands up with their last release. Along with some holiday classics there are new original songs. This is a must for your holiday collection and your Hall & Oates collection.Who would think that after all these years Hall & Oates would offer a holiday album? It's absolutely wonderful.
