Awesome fishfinder!!
We purchased the Lowrance Elite-5, not the Elite-5X as shown, to replace our old Lowrance X-85. As always there is a learning curve when getting a new fishfinder, but that curve is going pretty smoothly. The picture is clear, and we love the night mode feature, as we fish alot at night in the summer months. The colored screen is great for showing details and the option of saving the "honey holes" on the map so we can get back to them is perfect. It may seem a little pricey when you are looking around, but it is well worth the money. Look for another unit that shows better separation
Owners manual is limited too the amount of infomation necessary to operate unit. Lowrances' web site has a better understanding of the unit. Major complaint is the unit does not display fish on the screen. Adjusted contrast but still does not display symbals. Bottom line........ Unit does an excellent job of showing bottom detail, but taken other features in account, I would look for other brands that does a better job displaying objects.Owners manual is limited too the amount of infomation necessary to operate unit.
