The juggernaut first-person shooter returns to the Nintendo Wii in "Call of Duty: Black Ops." "Black Ops" is the seventh installment of the Call of Duty series. Besides the Wii, it was released for several systems, including the PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360. Upon its release date in 2010, fans in the U.S. and U.K. bought 5.6 million units within the first 24 hours. Fans of the franchise love this series because it offers fast-paced gameplay and a fun co-op gaming experience. This installment was developed by Treyarch and published by Activision. "Black Ops" from Activision is full of nonstop action as it unfolds in the vast expanse of the Cold War. Travel around the globe for battles with the Viet Cong, the North Vietnamese Army, Russian soldiers, and Cuban Tropas. They wield more than 40 different assault rifles, machine guns, shotguns, sniper rifles, and pistols. It offers an intriguing single-player campaign for Wii system gamers. The main character is Alex Mason, a soldier who took part in a series of covert missions during the 1960s. As the game begins, Mason is being interrogated about events he has no memory of. Gameplay is made up of Mason's flashbacks to different time periods and locales. Each sequence adds new information as he tries to remember his past. The story mixes historical events with fiction to deliver action-packed gameplay in unique locales. Multiplayer gaming remains a key component of the Call of Duty series. "Black Ops" on the Nintendo Wii gives fans more than a dozen games to play, eight character classes, and six maps on which to battle. Players can earn COD points to unlock weapons and upgrade abilities. Points are earned by completing contracts that ask you to fulfill certain objectives during a mission. Gamers buy contracts using COD points and earn more back upon completion. Three contracts can be taken on at once, which helps add variety to the gameplay. Points are also gained by entering into wager matches with others. The top three winners get rewarded. "Black Ops" marks the return of the zombie-laden co-op mode from "World at War," which allows four gamers to team up and dispatch hordes of unrelenting undead zombies. One unique section requires players to defend the Pentagon while playing as historical characters like John F. Kennedy. Also included is a theater mode, which allows you to save multi-player replays, look at them from different camera angles, and share them with friends. The combat training mode simulates multi-player match-ups with AI opponents. Gamers set the difficulty level in order to gain experience. It is an ideal way for new Call of Duty players to learn the mechanics of the game. With plenty to satisfy fans of FPS games, "Call of Duty: Black Ops" keeps the adrenaline pumping from start to finish. The Wii console edition is compatible with the Nintendo Wii controller as well as the classic controller. The game has an M, or Mature, rating due to its level of violence, gore, and language.     Black ops

    It's a good shooting/war game. Enjoy playing it. Good graphics and with my low skill level I find it challenging to reach the next level. For someone who is a casual player you get your moneys worth.

    Good game but bad platform

    I was very upset to learn there are many features not available in this game for the WII edition. One of the main reasons was to play zombies, although you can there is no split screen so it's only single player. (Don't forget the vending machine behind the bar for a revive) the only perk to one player zombies. It's only one zombie map too.. Online modes work but no 2 player for missions or training. Cheat codes don't seem to work either, in the main screen you can escape from the chair and access a computer to enter them but they don't work. I got classic controllers for the game and in zombies they only let you pick from several pre set controls you can't customize so they are kind of awkward. Game play is ok but I always preferred MW cod. The turning side to side is slow aiming and ...

    Black Ops for the Wii is a definite must buy for all serious gamers on the Wii. The story mode is amazing, with in depth conflict throught many terrains. Online is also superior, with new maps and wager matches adding unlimited fun. The new Cod Points system for purchasing weapons and upgrades its also highly addictive. Now your probably wondering why i havent rated this as an excellent product, and thats because of one main thing. Huge differences of content from the Xbox 360 and PS3 versions. Okay, first off, yes the graphics aren't as good, but thats to expect, as the Wii isn't as HD as the other systems. But the thing that truley got me were the fact that there is no local anything. NOTHING. No local multiplayer (including online, combat training, splitscreen, or zombies) really ...

    The best game for wii in 2010

    It has a really great story, great game to play and easy to play for anyone. The multiplayer are also great and the new zombie mode is reall awesome to. However, when you played this game for a very, very, long time it will become really boring. The zombie map for wii has only one map to play, but the other system like ps3 and xbox 360 has alot of zombie maps and new maps for multiplayer. Overall it is fun game to play.
