Seller Notes: “This Victorian era antique Brussels Duchesse bobbin lace drawstring reticule bag purse dates from ... “This Victorian era antique Brussels Duchesse bobbin lace drawstring reticule bag purse dates from the late 19th century. It is handmade of an off white cream color sheer fine Duchesse Brussels bobbin tape lace assembled with filmy linen stitch, half stitch veined leaves with raised oversewn bundles of threads, flower sprigs, scrolls joined by braided plaits. This pretty pouch purse has a reticule style with an adjustable pink silk ribbon woven drawstring closure on the Swiss dotted ruffle flounce top and is lined backed in a white silk fabric inside. The purse measures 9 1/2 inches long and 7 1/2 inches wide. It is in good as-is condition, but is frayed along the bottom seam silk lining and inside silk backing the top ruffle flounce (see close-ups). This is truly a lovely piece of antique Victoriana lace purse art.”
