Ruthless People (DVD, 2002)
Not exactly the perfect couple, Danny DeVito and Bette Midler, you might say, deserve each other! He is rich and has girlfriends, and she has let herself get fat, and obnoxious. She spends money like there is no tomorrow. When two kidnappers grab her for ransom, DeVito refuses to pay. When they threaten to harm her, he dares them to kill her. Suddenly, the kidnappers are her prisoners. She is so much trouble, and so hateful to them, they all of a sudden realize why he doesn't want her back. As time passes, they become friends with her, and find out that DeVito isn't any sort of treasure either. Midler winds up losing a lot of weight in her ordeal and regains her figure. She discovers that her kidnapper is a great clothing designer, and they negotiate a ransom with DeVito when ... We are not done yet~ mean while the kidnappers and Barbara HATCH a scheme of their own to PAY DeVito BACK when Barbara Learns what a LOUSE HE REALLY IS~FROM THE Tacky furniture to her tacky clothes to NASTY MOUTH AND DISPOSITION~we LOVE/HATE Midler...who can blame DeVito for wanting her DEAD? we do~ and DeVito is REPULSIVE and getS more SO as the movie flows along~ the plot is confusing but SUDDENLY COMES TOGETHER AND SO DOES THE HUMOR~ and nothing goes right which is the fun part~ some nudity~ but the over all movie is funny, silly, HYSTERICAL and A great ending~ you can watch this years later and still laugh~ DeVito and MIDLER at their silly best~ I GIVE IT A SOLID 10 OUT OF 10 FOR ALL TIME BEYOND FUNNY GREAT FUN~ IF YOU FOUND THIS REVIEW HELPFUL PLEASE REMEMBER TO VOTE~

A great Danny DeVito vehicle
Danny DeVito is an excellent bad guy in this show. You really get to hate him. Overall, this is an entertaining movie, worth watching a few times.

Fantastic movie, with great songs and dancing
I wish I could find just the soundtrack to the movie...the orchestra is excellent! I had watched the Documentary, "Top of the World", then it was removed from YouTube. That made my purchase Yankee Doodle Dandy. I was pleased to see it sold together.
