Great movie but I recieved a bad recording
This is one of the greatest movies and stories of all time, unfortunately the DVD I had purchased was defective, the top part of the film was not visible, some scenes the heads of actors were not shown and a scene where a painting above a fireplace was not shown which was the subject of the scene. Seller kindly refunded the sale. I have notice similar problems a few times on different DVDs so I believe it must be a common error in transferring from analog to digital (8mm film recorded to DVD). As far as the cover, it should have a black & white scene from the movie on the cover. Romantic tearjerker
A patient (Ronald Colman) wanders away from a mental hospital. He has lost his memory and his speech is halting. A beautiful actress (Greer Garson) hides him from the police. They get married, but then he regains his memory. The catch is, he has now forgotten her. He returns to his life as a wealthy aristocrat. She gets a job as his secretary. Years pass as she keeps the secret and worships him from afar. Finally, he is elected to Parliament and needs a wife to keep up appearances, so he proposes a marriage of convenience. She accepts, and several more years pass where she is his wife in public but they have separate beds. This is charming, nostalgic, romantic, and well worth seeing, but modern audiences may find the main characters hard to understand. Colman's character, while physically ... The fact that this one-sided romance goes on for many years made me impatient. Garson is beautiful, strong, capable, and does not suffer from low self-esteem. At some point during the marriage she should have tried to seduce him --- and/or told him the entire truth.

Possibly one of the greatest classic movies of all time. Great love story and superb acting. This movie will melt anyone's heart!

Random Harvest
This is one of the greatest love stories ever brought to the screen. It's been an enduring favorite of mine since I was a kid. But it's also a wonderful period work. Garson & Coleman provide the class & passion to this well-scripted 'Odyssey'. I highly recommend this classic to anyone with a heart. If you're not a romantic, this film may change that. I still get emotional every time I watch it.
