Popular American sitcom FRIENDS first appeared on our screens back in 1994 to little fanfare. The show followed the lives of six twentysomething singles--Monica (Courtney Cox), Rachel (Jennifer Aniston), Phoebe (Lisa Kudrow), Joey (Matt LeBlanc), Ross (David Schwimmer), and Chandler (Matthew Perry)--who occupied a trendy New York loft apartment. These were essentially six beautiful people who had probably never known a hard day's work in their lives, and whose every utterance was a well-crafted witticism. But despite their idealised lifestyles and perfectly coiffed hairdos, there was something annoyingly endearing about them. Viewers could easily relate to their struggles with work, sex, and relationships because these were universal struggles - albeit heightened for comedic effect. From early on it was clear that FRIENDS had successfully tapped into the zeitgeist of its time, and now, 10 series down the line, the show's broad appeal continues to live on in popular culture. This box set contains every episode from series 1 through 10.

    A great set, no dvd collection should be without!!!!

    Wow at last took the plunge and bought the box set!!! I love Friends and my nine year old daughter is discovering it now which is fab!! I got out of watching it when she was a baby and have always wanted to watch it from the beginning and boy am I glad I did! The set is brand new and sealed, with a fairly thick booklet with coloured pictures that gives a short summery of each episode, the quality of the discs are excellent and the box is sturdy and attractive looking. There is about 80 hours of viewing and extras as well. The price is excellent for the amount of discs and covers the whole series, we are still slowly plodding through them all with much enjoyment. I cannot fault this and if you are hesitating as I did for so long, just go for it you won't be disappointed

    great show

    Every show shows from the hit series FRIENDS is included on this release, making it is a great way to watch the laughter, tears, marriage, divorce, birth, death, and other themes of the show as it unfolds. Like all good things, the adventures of Rachel Green (Jennifer Aniston), Monica Geller (Courteney Cox), Phoebe Buffay (Lisa Kudrow), Joey Tribbiani (Matt LeBlanc), Chandler Bing (Matthew Perry), and Ross Geller (David Schwimmer) sadly came to an end with season 10 of the show, but these episodes stand as a fine testament to a timeless comedy classic that considerably brightened up the television schedules during its 10-year run.

    Brilliantly written and acted fun family shows that will last over time.

    We didn't usually watch the Friends show on TV but 'caught' a couple of shows early in December. My son thought they were really funny so we bought the box set series 1-10 for Christmas. He has virtually locked himself away in his bedroom to watch each of the DVDs - we have hardly seen him but we have heard him laughing at the scenes played out and he's loving watching them. He only has series 10 to watch now and he's already saying he'll start watching them again when he's finished. My son is 17 and he loves them - he is a newly converted 'Friends fan'. He's at the right age to appreciate the humour of the shows and they're all good 'family' fun - nothing too 'over the top'! This was certainly one of the best value for money buys I have made as a Christmas present and one that will ...
