Paintball anyone? In Gotcha!, plug in your Zapper and shoot away in a classic game of capture the flag. You'll move screen to screen as you fire at any opponents that hinder your progress in several environments such as the forest, the Bronx, and a winter wonderland. Be careful, though. Your opponents will be trying to hit you too! Once you make it from your base to the opponent's, your game is only half over. Take their flag and face more opposition on the way back to your base. And keep in mind that they're after your flag as well. If they should manage to capture your flag and make it back to their base, you lose. You'll face the same fate if you get shot on three occasions or run out of time. Once you've perfected your Zapper skills with this game, there's no telling how many times you'll exclaim, "Gotcha!"

Not what I was expecting...
Gotcha! deserves a 10/10 here. How many games do you know of that use the game ''capture the flag'' as the plot? None? I thought so. I was intrigued the first time I played this game. The idea of using a common ''real life'' game other then the regular sports was a great idea. This is the only game I know of that uses this element. It is one of a kind, and deserves recognition for that. But sadly, this is the strong point. Gameplay Ouch. Even though Capture the Flag seems like a very fun thing to do, the way this game is played makes it horrendous. Basically, what you do is scroll across the screen trying to get to the opponents flag before they can get yours. Once you get to their ''base'', you return the flag to your ''base'' and that's how you win. Now, on to the bad parts. For some ... Gotcha! deserves a 10/10 here. No matter how close you point the Zapper at the screen, you still rarely hit the guys who jump from trees, run around the background, and just come out from nowhere. This is the main reason the gameplay is bad. It's not supposed to be a chore to hit the men, but it is, even on the easiest difficulty, which there are three of. Another thing is that there is some constant blinking which detracts from the gameplay also. Perhaps the worst gameplay element of all is the fact that there are only three different kinds of areas that you play in which makes playing continuously for long periods of time boring. If the gameplay was improved, this would, all in all, be a better game. Story None that I know of, other than the basic rules of ''Capture the Flag'' with a little twist that I mentioned earlier. If you have the game, you should understand. Music/Sound Effects These are not the best they could be. The music that does play is somewhat aggravating and should be muted. The sound of the Zapper(when it actually hits someone) is actually the best sound effect. The three little ''ding, ding, dings'' are not what I would call great and there really isn't anything else to mention other than this part of the game could be improved. Although, your spending so much time dealing with other things in which I'm about to explain, you don't really pay attention to the sounds that much, so maybe that's a good thing. Control Oh yes, here is what we've all been waiting for, to hear about the controls. Well, they're BAD. Yes, BAD. The developers set up the game so that you must hold the controller in one hand while shooting with the Zapper in the other. How do you do that? Barely. I have no idea why the levels weren't self-scrolling, as the game would be so much funner and a lot less aggravating. It basically impossible to shoot accurate while holding the Zapper with one hand, much less trying to control where you're going with the other one. This makes the game just downright disgusting to play. Now that's my opinion, and yours may differ, but it just doesn't make me want to play the game at all. Trust me, it's very, very aggravating. And that pretty much sums up the controls. Summary Should you play this game? Yes, but once you see how difficult it is to do two things at once, you won't want to. Overall, this game had the potential to be so much better, but it was wasted with sloppy controls and there being hardly any sounds to hear. In the end it's up to you, but I would recommend only buying this game if you have some spare cash, or if you just want to see how bad the controls are.

Very fun and addicting game
A very fun nes zapper game. The game itself is in very good condition. The game is like paintball and capture the flag combined. You must stop enemies from capturing your flag. You must be aware of your amunition and your surrondings. THere are enemies right around the corner every second. This game is cool and fun. The thing I like about this game is that you use the zapper.

Gotcha! (says the video game salesman)
This game conceptually should be fun and it is if you don't notice one thing. You can just scroll all the way to your enemies flag, take it, then scroll all the way back to your base (only shooting one guy, the guy with your flag) and you can beat every level. Pretty weak. If you pretend that you have to shoot every player it's a little more fun. For about 4 minutes.

This is an okay game
I would really like to play and enjoy this game, but, it is not what I expected. When my son and I are shooting and trying to get the targets, it seems something is either wrong with the game, or my guns? If all worked fine, probably a good game. GOOD LUCK!!!
