About this product

Product Information

This sequel to 1993's THE CUTTING EDGE stars Christy Carlson Romano (KIM POSSIBLE) as the daughter of the original's Moira Kelly and D.B. Sweeney. A young figure skater intent on a gold medal of her own, the princess must once again pair up with a less refined rival. This time, it's in-line skater Alex Harrison (Ross Thomas) who is her best bet as a partner--for both skating and sparring! The couple's initial dislike for one another cools as their relationship heats up, both on and off the ice.

Fun sequal to first but to many twist

I debated between giving this 3 or 4 stars. I went with 3 because it just in my opinion didn't deserve 4 stars. The story moved along very well until the last 1/4 of the movie and I was tired of the additional conflicts brought up between the two main characters girl gets boy, losses boy, losses boy, losses boy. looses girl and boy and girl get back together. ????????? Good story line regarding skating but it spent to much time on the on again off again twists to the relationship between the two main characters.

  • DRAMA AND ROMANCE

WELL WHAT CAN I SAY, I BOUGHT THIS MOVIE BECAUSE I LIKE MOVIES WITH FIGURE SKATING AND IN GENERAL I SPORTS MOVIES THAT INCLUDE FOLLOWING UR DREAMS AND FIGHTING HARD FOR IT. WHAT I LOVE ABOUT THIS MOVIE WAS HOW THE 2 CHARACTERS EVOLVE FROMLIKING EACH OTHER TO HATING EACH OTHER TO FALLING IN LOVE WITH EACH OTHER. ONE IS A FIGURE SKATER WHILE THE OTHER IS AN INLINE SKATTER. ANYWAYS, BOTH R FROM TWO DIFFERENT WORLDS, AND THEY HAVE TO PRACTIVE TOGETHER TO GET IT RIGHT RIGHT AND WIN THE GOLD, WHICH THEY DO AT THE END. IT IS A GOOD MOVIE WITH ROMANCE, DRAMA, AND ATTITUDE. IF U LOVE CHRISTY CARLSON ROMANO IN EVEN STEVENS THEN HERE IS ANOTHER SIDE OF HER THAT U WOULD WANT TO C HER IN. SHE IS PREETY GOOD. SO CHECK IT OUT. IS A MOVIE WORTH HAVING. WHAT I DISLIKE ABOUT IT IS THE ENDING. AFTER THEY WIN ...

  • The Cutting Edge - Going for the Gold

This was okay. It is the sequel to The Cutting Edge w/ DB Sweeney & Moira Kelley. It takes place many years after the original characters "Kate" & "Doug" have gotten married. They have a teenage daughter who is a singles figure skater, she is injured & has to turn to less challenging pairs skating. I found the movie predictable, dry & unsatisfying, following the same plot as the original movie. There was no chemistry between the actors & I was sorely disappointed that Moira Kelley & DB Sweeney did not reprise their roles. There were huge gaps in the story line, leaving you wondering what was going on. If I were Roger Ebert, I'd give it a thumbs down.

  • Disappointed with the movie

The actual movie.... was disappointing I already owned all of the other Cutting Edge movies and wanted to complete my collection. However I was disappointed in this one..p% Just no chemistry between the two characters.

  • Cute movie.

While not as good as the first, still very cute and very good. This stars Christy Carlson Romano who plays the daughter from the first Cutting Edge skating pairs stars (they were played by Moira Kelly and D.B. Sweeney). Following in the foot steps of her parents, she takes to the ice as a single skater until an accident changes all of that. Throughout the movie you will see things that was also in the first (Like Romano's character telling Ross Thomas character "Toepick!"). I didn't like that the parents were played by different people and not by Moira Kelly and D.B. Sweeney. Other than that a very good family movie!
