The good and bad of a Garmin RV specific GPS device
This is a 10-year-old GPS but maps are updateable for the life of the unit. I updated the maps. While the maps are accurate for the most part, Google Maps is more accurate! Google Maps doesn't take into account vehicle size, so this RV-designed GPS was needed. Garmin should do a better job with their maps. I've found several instances where addresses can not be found and incorrect exit numbers are shown on the maps. I would not recommend paying list price for any Garmin GPS especially now knowing that Garmin stops support after about 5 years for their GPS devices (you can not ask questions, only get map updates). Some of the built-in apps are deprecated like the myGarmin and Tracker apps loaded on the device (obviously Garmin has shut down those services). Purchasing this unit used ... Very Large screen !!!
This is a LARGE unit to sit on a dashboard............I like it because its easy to see from a distance. I've only owned Garmin's......... to me they are very easy to use & I like the format for entering addresses. I also own a 6 inch Garmin & I believe it would be the better choice for most user's as it is also large, but not as tall as to restrict view out the windshield. The 7 inch is great for a Truck !!
