Unfortunately, this product didn't function as advertised. It appeared to be a new DVD and arrived sealed. However the first movie would not play. It was like it had never been burned to the DVD. All others worked fine. I advise the seller and he provided a return label and refunded the purchase price. Since this was a newly sealed DVD, I don't hold the seller responsible, as it must have arrived from the manufacturer this way. The seller was happy to make things right, so I'd buy again.

Taxi - The FIrst Season
The first season comes to us on a running start. The characters are still being developed and storylines simple yet enjoyable. The character, "Latka" played by Andy Kaufman, is amusing to a point, but the writers get carried away with him sometimes and keep him on the screen too long. Casting for this series is superb, all the actors do an excellent job. I ordered the second season before I finished watching the first one. Marilu Henner is stunning. She's a great actor who can make her charactor "Nardo" a person everyone would love to meet. Is the Taxi series a dvd collection worth buying? Yes. After you watch them all, wait a year and watch them again. With all the channels available on cable, I find myself buying TV series such as Taxi on dvd because I ... TAXI remains a top-contending show!
Having seen various episodes of TAXI all my life, having the chance to sit down and watch the first season straight through gave me a much better appreciation for the show than I thought possible. With shows constantly vying to keep your attention with their slap-stick humor or violent portrayal of everyday life, TAXI proves you can care (and laugh) about characters that are dealing with problems that are just as much relevant as they were twenty years ago. With a cast like Judd Hirch, Danny DeVito, Andy Kaufman, Tony Danza (and, Christopher Lloyd, though with only a cameo in one episode during the first season), there are more stars in this show than any show on television. A pleasure to watch. I'll definitely keep buying the later seasons and gladly add this Series to my list of ... A great series unforgotten
Having been a big fan of this series and its characters, I welcome a chance to rewatch any episodes that I may have seen before and to watch any I may have missed, especially as I got a "late start" catching on to this series.

The combination of outstanding writing, superb characters, and on-screen chemistry made Taxi one of the great ensemble shows of all time. The first season's only flaw was the weak character John. He was replaced in season two with the Reverend Jim Ignatowski.
