  • Exceeded My Expectations!

So, I had this idea in the back of my mind that I should digitize all my thousands of old 35mm slides. I had researched scanner products and had always heard the Epson's mentioned with positive reviews. I must say that I had at the back of my mind a project I did many years back where I digitized some old slides at work for a class I was teaching. In those days, my work location had acquired a Nikon CoolScan slide scanner, very expensive. The scanning of the slides was so painfully that I avoided that tool ever since. It was so-o-o slow - about 10 minuted per slide! The scans were good - just difficult to go through. So I finally said to myself that things must be better by now and purchased the Epsom Perfection V300 Photo. The unit arrived and I set to work. My experience has almost all ...

  • Easy cheap scanner

I had to give up my Epson Perfection 600S SCSI scanner when I upgraded to Windows 7. I loved that scanner, which was discarded by the city of Chicago's graphics department. Epson did a great job with their TWAIN driver (which means "Totally Without Any Interesting Name"). My new PC still has SCSI, but very few SCSI scanners have TWAIN drivers for Windows 7. Since I scan in mostly small 3D objects, a few photo prints, and a few printed pages I thought I'd stick with Epson and didn't need a transparency adapter. The new scanner arrived quickly and set up in just a few minutes. Its USB 2.0 interface is almost as fast as the SCSI interface I was used to. Also, I no longer have to wait a couple of minutes for the scanner to warm up. My only complaints are 1) images tend toward green, ...

  • cheap in price not in features

With 4800 dpi scanning, 48 bit color and all the features this unit packs, its a steal for the price. And the software also impressed me with programs such as,•Epson Scan with Epson Easy Photo Fix® technology, ABBYY® FineReader® Sprint OCR,ArcSoft® MediaImpression, I loved the photo fix software, it was the correct mix between featrues and complexity, which means it does alot and is easy to use! Optical character recognition also is usually found only on the most expensive models. I have been using computers for many years and have been through many scanners and only my old epson lasted from windows 95 to the present. The others broke long ago. The only drawback was no updated drivers offered for my 20 year old epson. Bright side.... I got a new one.

  • Little scanner that can !

For the rock bottom price this little scanner works hard ! The software is as simple or as advanced as you care to make it. The hardware is easy to set up and align, with alternate pegs for slides or negs. This is not a dedicated scanner. All scans are not the same, however with care taken to make a good scan, 8X10 printing is possible, with good-to-excellent color and grain from a well exposed slide. So if your converting the family album, or mostly scanning reflective flat material with the occasional desire for a negative or slide, this little guy won't disappoint !

  • Enjoyed doing business with this person

Great product and service, easy to use with a plug and play type of adaption to any type of computer. Easily download any software if needed to run on different types of computers. For my use very portable and takes excellent copies of documents or pictures as needed. Customer service from Epson's website is easy to use and if needed can converse with a customer service representative or 3rd party contractor to figure out problem and resolve relatively quickly depending on the complication incurred when setting up on computer system.
