Razortooth Sharpest On Characters Not On Graphics!
I was extremely surprised to see a film like this being made about killer eels that, not only swim in water and pipes, but slither on land and in the trees. Razortooth is set somewhere in Florida where local animal control official Delmar Coates (Doug Swander) and his ex-wife who is also the local Sheriff Ruth Gainey (Kathleen LaGue) start to get strange reports of disappearing animals. Then the horribly mutilated dead bodies of the townsfolk start turning up, the Sheriff thinks it's down to two escaped convicts Eddie (Max Rishoj) and Sal (Josuha Rubin) while Delmar has his suspicions about ex ETF scientist Dr. Soren Abramson (Simon Page) & his genetic experiments. It turns out that Abramson created a huge eel in the laboratory which escaped into the swamp and is pretty much eating ... The story-line was a bit weak, since they threw in the reasoning about why the eel didn't eat the young man who had diabetes. They rigged up some kind of poison arrow with sugar pills and shot granddaddy eel. It knocked him out for a while but didn't kill him. The movie was quite entertaining in places since the casting was excellent. 3/5 for overall entertainment appeal and senseless story-line. Watching this is like a 2 edged sword. Pretty good cheesy monster flick
Pretty good for this type of movie. The eel thingies are actually kinda cute. I love the smarmy scientist. "From a scientific standpoint, it's perfectly legal". Yeah, that's not a thing. Not the best in this genre, but I'll definitely watch it again.
