Das fUr die Deutsche Otologcn-Tagung 1963 erstattcte Referat uber die Pathologie der Halslymphknoten ist so freulldlieh aufgenommen worden, daB ieh mieh clem 'Yunseh naeh einer - leieht redigierten - Veroffentliehung fiir einen breitercn Lescrkreis nieht entzichen machtI'. Ieh werde darin bestiirkt durch zwei Tatsaehen. Erstens: Bs gibt derzeit keine monographische Darstellung der gesamten Lymphlmotenpathologie und auch nicht der Pathologie del' Halslymphknoten. So kann der ge- botene skizzenhafte AbriB diese Liie!; e wenigstens provisoriseh sehlieBen. Zweitens: Ieh bin noeh den Teil B meines Beitrages im Handbuch der speziellen pathologisehen Anatomie schuhlig. Durch die Bewegtheit del' lctz, ten Jahre fand ieh nieht die: \luBe, das begonnene 'Verk abzu- schlie Ben. So soll das vorliegende Biichlein die fiir die Praxis wiehtigsten Tatsachen vorweg bringen. Freilich gibt es auch cin ge 'iehtiges Argument gegen die Veraffent- lichung dieses Abrisses: In del' pathologisehen Histologie der malign en Lymphknotenerkrankungen sincl noeh viele Lucken, die eine systema- tisehe Darstellung verfriiht erseheinen lassen. Dies gilt z. B. fUr das groB- follikuliire Lymphoblastom (BRILL-SnmERs) oder die Reticulosen. Ich habe trotz diesel' Bedenken der Veraffentlichung zugestimmt, weil das Ende auf dem 'Wege der morphologisehen Erforsehung del' malignen lymphoretikuliiren Neubilclungen noeh nieht abzusehen ist und weil cler Alltag des Pathologen und vielleieht auch des Klinikers einen Zwischcn- bericht geradezu fordert. Vielleicht kann dieser Versuch abel' noeh mehr sein als eine Bestands- aufnahme: Mochte er dazu dienen, daB sich Kliniker und Morphologen enger zusammensehlieBen und Seite an Seite den noeh offenen Fragen zu Leibe rucken.
