About this product

Product Information

Crash Twinsanity is a 2004 PlayStation 2 video game published by Vivendi. It has an ESRB rating of E for everyone. In this 11th installment of the Crash Bandicoot series, players get to dive into a beautiful, open-world environment similar to the other games. The entire game is based on semi-3-D environments but is considered to be an adventure platform game. In this installment, characters including Nina Cortex and Dr. Cortex are present. The plain and simple design and game story allow anyone to play the PS2 game, including young children. Unlike previous games in the franchise, Crash must work beside his nemesis, the evil Doctor Neo Cortex. Gameplay continues as you assume the role of one of three characters: Crash, Dr. Cortex, or Nina Cortex. However, saying Bandicoot and Cortex work together is a bit of a stretch. A simpler statement would be that Crash is forced to work for the evil Dr. Cortex and Mrs. Cortex. Together, Crash and each Cortex must fight the Evil Twins to save the Wumpa Islands. The twins are anything but right-minded. Their madness is the reason for the game’s title of “Twinsanity.” Gamers have an unusual opportunity in this game to play as either an evil villain or as a hero. Weapons at the disposal of Crash Bandicoot include ray guns, rockets, and mechanical arms. In addition to defeating enemies, Crash or Dr. Cortex will have to solve puzzles. Each quest helps the player increase the level of Crash or Dr. Cortex's stats and abilities. When searching through each level of the adventure game, your character will also have the opportunity to collect new weapons and gems. If Crash or Dr. Cortex is able to collect enough Wumpa fruit, they can earn extra lives. It is necessary to finish all quests in a level in order to move on. As you progress through the game, you will also have the chance to unlock special content, like game art and videos. During the game, Dr. Cortex, the other Cortex, or Crash can use a variety of different moves. Some of these moves are only available to certain players. Specialized moves include the Twin Slam, Twin Throw, Spank, and Rollerbrawl. Other tasks include running through simple jump-and-run areas and the classic jump, slide, and spin mechanism used in all of the franchise games. Obstacles are, at times, somewhat humorous. Crash may have to try and outrun a very upset polar bear or travel the sewers looking for a jet pack to escape with. The graphics in Crash Twinsanity are clean, crisp, and bright. The art is rendered in the familiar, cartoonish style of the franchise. The Sony PlayStation has a history of providing gamers with fun, quality experiences. This Crash Twinsanity installment of the series doesn't disappoint. While it is similar to other video games featuring Bandicoot, the storyline and game features make it able to stand on its own.

    Solid game

This game has great creativity in all respects and it helps make up for some of the not-so-great elements that make the gameplay a mixed bag. I think this game is one worthy of the Crash Bandicoot name

  • Crash With Some Twists!!!

Pros + Same fun, trademark Crash with some twists & new characters. + Open-ended gameplay instead of the same old corrider searching. + Having to team up with Cortex to save the day. Cons - Crash is becoming outdated compared to PS2's big 3 platformers (Sly, Jak, & Ratchet). - Gameplay has a few glitches. - No co-op or multiplayer even with all the new playable characters. Comments Crash is getting old but Twinsanity adds some twists that separate it from your standard platformer. But anyone who has played 'Whiplash' will be slightly familiar with the gameplay found in Twinsanity. Any Crash fan will enjoy. Verdict Must have for Crash fans. Fun platformer for any fan of platform games that don't have terribly high expectations.

  • Twinsanity

It had been nearly 2 years since i've played a Crash Bandicoot game, until I popped this game into the PS2. The game is fun, starts out based in a tropical area/island. It's DEFINITELY different from the last Crash game I played (Wrath of Cortex), but it's not a bad buy. It's EASY to die, so your lives are valuable in this game. Some of the boxes that give you lives are right in front of you to get, but there's a trick to getting them and you have an 85% chance of falling off into a cliff. Sometimes it's just not worth it. Overall, the game is great though. Good story line, and even though I didn't play a few of the games before this one, I could jump in and understand the story line. It reminds you of the controls right when you start as your playing.

  • Good buy

I bought this game for my 8 (very soon to be 9) year old daughter. We as a family love to find a game that we all can take turns playing together. I decided on this game because we played the other Crash games and enjoyed them. We have enjoyed it for the most part, however I am finding that my husband and I do most of the playing. You have to go through really hard parts for a long period of time before auto save works. In turn that means that it takes you many tries before you get to the next level. A bit discouraging even for us. However, it has awsome graffix and it has kept us playing for a good 2 weeks now. I would recommend this game to others.

  • Timeless Classic

This game is far superior to any and all other Crash Bandicoot games. The graphics make you feel like you're actually there on N. Sanity Island, the controls are very effective and easy to remember, the difficulty level escalates very reasonably as the game progresses, and the music is very catchy and more than likely to be stuck in a player's head for extended periods of time. Overall, this game is the crowned jewel of the PS2 library, with 5 stars and 2 Gamer's Thumbs up!
