Seiko Air Divers 200M Prospex Special Edition, PADI. Automatic.

This is my 4th Seiko Diver. I started to own these in the 1980’s. For the most part they did a decent job. The most recently retired “Monster” that I owned was really all not that durable, in fact I was rather surprised how tender of a time piece it was. The other 2 previous divers held up very well but the automatic movements suffered overtime with loss of accuracy. Seiko has a “factory” service center located in Northern New Jersey. Just sending in your watch is a $100.00 dollar minimum endeavor, then they hit you with the repair bill. There are various jewelers on the Internet that specialize in rebuilding/servicing Seiko divers but most have a 6 month waiting list and costs start at about $350.00 and go from there. For that reason the Seiko brand came into question when you consider ...

    Condense under crystal :(

Hi guys! At first I was very happy with my purchase. The watch indeed is an awesome piece and for halved the price the deal is a no-brainer. I've been swimming with them couple of times before, However just yesterday I've been swimming wearing them with perhaps 2m dive. And suddenly the condense showed off after I put them on again the same day. Considering the fact I never wear them with unscrewed crown, the watch should have been opened before and poorly sealed then. Now I'm very frustrated about this item... hopefully the service will keep the mechanism alive...we'll see.

  • Wears better than imagined!!!

Ok, so I've been into watches for some time now. And of course Seiko is one brand I have many of, and love. But the photos of the cushioned case Turtle never did appeal to me. Idk but something about the shape and size I never thought would look good on me. Then recently, since I own just about every other popular model Seiko under the $1k price tag, I decided to pick up a Turtle to round out my collection. I choose the PADI Edition one. And WOW I'm glad I did! This thing fits great! Wears great! And looks even better! I love it, and especially the bold sunray dial really pops! I don't know why I didn't give it a chance sooner. I have a 7.5" wrist and the 45mm case size is the largest I go (and 40mm is the smallest). This Seiko Turtle has been my new daily favorite for like 5 days/wk! And ...

  • Favorite watch

I received my Prospex PADI turtle 2 weeks ago and I haven’t worn another watch since. It’s 44mm but because of the shape it seems and feels smaller. The color of the face and bezel are perfect and I think they look better in person than any picture can show. I changed my bracelet to a leather Barton band and now I can change the look whenever I want.. The 4R36 movement seems to be accurate enough since I set the time to my iPhone time 2 weeks ago and they are still in sync.. not bad!! I can’t recommend this enough to anyone that is looking for a great looking watch with some collectibility and value.. probably the best diver for the money out there!

  • Nice Watch (with a couple of caveats)

PROS: Overall, I like the watch but it isn't as convenient as my Seiko Prospex Divers watch since that has a capacitor which holds a charge for a week or two. This watch has a nice appearance and I've been wearing it for a month or so now. I had been wearing a titanium watch and I was concerned about how heavy this watch might be. Fortunately, it's not really very heavy. Initially, it seemed to lose time overnight but I think it was just that it wasn't fully wound and I wasn't wearing it that many hours each day. For the last couple of weeks it's been keeping accurate time. The rotating bezel was changed to one marked with hours (rather than minutes) and I like the appearance. CONS: The watch band came apart several times when I first got it; however, it's been staying intact for a ...
