Product Information

Door to door salesmen aren't usually associated with changing lives. This made-for-cable tells the story of salesman Bill Porter who came into contact with numerous people during his decades of knocking on doors. Porter, suffering from cerebral palsy, didn't allow his condition to stop him from pursuing a career, and his story touched the heart of many of his potential customers. Often, his clientele would be presented with difficulties of their own that Porter's triumphant story would serve as inspiration to ignite change. Porter is played by William H. Macy in this biographical portrait. Macy also collaborated on the script with director Steven Schachter to see this personal project through. The pair also brought the mystery thriller A SLIGHT CASE OF MURDER to the small screen.

    DVD Door to Door

    I decided to buy this movie because I sell Watkins products. I had hear about a great movie about this guy with a disability that sold Watkins but no one could remember the name of it. One day on the Watkins message board I saw the movie being discussed and found out the name of it. I thought of ebay first because you have everything and again you didn't disappoint me! I bought it have enjoyed it. It is one of the best movies about teaching that you can overcome anything in life. Of course he had a great product to help him along. I have shared it with those looking for a business to get into and also with those that just want to watch a good movie and no one has been disappointed. They all ask where I bought it and I share with them my second passion ebay. If anyone wants to know ...

    Door to Door with William H. Macy & Kyra Sedgwick

    I saw this movie on the Hallmark channel & felt I needed to own it! This is based on a true story about Bill Porter who was born with physical challenges. However he didn't let that get the best of him. He went out to find a job & no one would hire him. He finally got a job with Jewel T a door to door sales co. Because of his charm & devotion to do a good job, he became the top salesman for the year. He was laughed at, had doors slammed in his face, yelled at & more. But it didn't stop him. William H Macy is superb. I would suggest this movie to everyone. I personally wish we could motivate more people like him.

    Former door-to-door salesman says: WATCH THIS MOVIE!

    If you haven't seen this movie, you need to. I was a d2d salesman for many years and then blew my back out. Kind of the reverse of the hero's situation. I'm a grown man but this one gets me EVERY time. Very inspirational, showing what a good man with courage, patience, and persistence can achieve. I could go on and on, but - just watch the dern movie! Kudos to Bill Porter, Bill Macy, Helen Mirren, Kathy Baker. What an exceptional example of how movies should be made!

    Wonderful and inspiring movie based on a true story

    Talk about determination, patience and persistence! Bill Porter may have cerebral palsy but he has so much more - great sense of humour, sweet spirit and a purpose in life. He may have suffered some hard knocks in life but uses those life lessons and goes door-to-door providing not only a service but an connection with people and precious friendships. Truly inspirational! Could have done without the occasional swear word.
