The Keysight USB/GPIB interface provides a direct connection between USB-enabled computer devices and a GPIB instrument. The parallel polling ability checks the response of up to eight instruments in a single pole. It is compatible with USB 2.0 interfaces, through which it transfers data at a rate of 1.15MB/s. The plug-and-play interface will automatically recognize the device, making installation easy. No switches, PC cards, or external power supplies are required. It works with Windows XP, Vista, 7, and 8.

    Great Product , but beware of the Fakes.

    First, make sure you have a legitimate Agilent 82357B, There are a lot of counterfeit ones being sold, especially on eBay. Check the internet for how to spot the fakes, Agilent/Keysight only makes them new under the Keysight brand.Also Keysight can check the Agilent's serial number for you to verify if it is real. Second this is a good product, if you can get it for a reasonable price it is a great product as it allows you to access older test equipment that uses the GPIB interface with a modern PC. The primary problem is getting the software to work with your instrument. A lot of the software only works on Windows XP or earlier. However there are Linux versions that seen more up to date.

    Prepare for bloatware

    I purchased this adapter to communicate with a HP 4194A Impedance Analyzer. I saw no way to just install the GPIB-USB function from the Keysight IO software suite. This adapter did not work with the instrument with which I intended to communicate. Each time I issued a command through the GPIB-USB adapter it would reset the analyzer. Maybe it works okay with other instruments, but I haven't checked. Keysight, you've earned a C-.

    Good value for money

    Good is: the product works with HP/agilent equipment. Software installed under Win7 32 bit without any problem. Bad is: diferent serial numbers provided so product is probably not oryginal HP. Not tested with non HP equipment. Generaly it is OK with the price offered.

    Seems to be as advertised.

    In a brief initial test, unit seems to be recognized by and work with the latest version of Keysight I/O Libraries Suite 2019. The Keysight Connection Expert scanned and found my Wavetek Arb. I have not yet tested control or programming of my HP/Agilent/Keysight or Wavetek test equipment using this interface.

    GPIB

    Worked perfectly with my HP8903b. The GPIB interface was easily found on my PC the 8903b just popped up and was fully functional. I don't know if it will be compatible with all HP/Agilent gear and software.
