Five days after his 14th birthday, Aidan and his father, Scott, embarked on a journey of a lifetime. Over the course of the next 133 days, the father and son duo hiked the length and breadth of the 2,189.9 miles of the Appalachian Trail. Enduring sprained ankles, chaffed nipples, blistered feet, broken bones, and strained tempers, Aidan and Scott hardly noticed the wild animals pulling at their tent fabric or the 100 days of violent storms pouring rain down on their heads. Twenty years after his own cancelled thru-hike, Scott convinced his video-gaming, city-kid son to spend five months in the Appalachian wilderness. The boy's only concern - where to poop.
