I only gave 4 stars for a couple of reasons. First of all the receiver alert bell really isn't loud enough, for some people maybe but I'm a retired old rock musician so my ears aren't what they use to be lol as I'm sure a lot of us middle age to elderly people are. Another issue is it doesn't ring often enough at times, you see when you set it up they have a good idea in a way the first sensor beeps once the second sensor beeps twice the third three times which is nice because you know where the intruder is but if you don't catch the first beep your kind of out. I guess if it were a lot louder this could help solve this problem. another thing I noticed is when I've tested it and walked back and forth in front of it at times it takes a second for the transmitter to pick me up. of course ... This thing sends a signal...I have 2 sensors in a aluminum sided building one window 70 feet through wall to the other end...Wow..the transmitter has no problem sending signal and building is 175 feet from receiver inside my house..i am impressed...I am not sorry I bought this item but I feel if a couple changes were made it would be a massively excellent 5 star plus item..i place beside my bed on night stand and pretty sure ill here it I just place the sensors that ring more beeps in the most important places...

Excellent range, nearly unuseable
The sensor/transmitter seems to be very sensitive and works well at over 350 feet but the receiver alarm sound is of such low volume that it can only be heard withing a room size area. There is no apparent volume control. For my needs it was inadequate. I purchased a Harbor Freight motion system to replace it for a third of the price but found that it did not have the range advertised. Fortunately, both the Chamberlain and HF devices operated on channel 10 so the Chamberlain sensor/transmitter communicated effectively to the much louder HF receiver at the distance I needed. Small issue but the LED 'on' light is so bright that I had to put two layers of tape over it to stop it from being a night light. If you only needed the alarm sound to be heard in a small area this would be an ... Because the base has batteries and the unit works long-distance, I can take it with me to the back porch, gardens and even the fire pit and the signal comes through loud and clear. The sensitivity setting works perfectly - now I don't have to miss a visitor or respond to false alarms from animals or leaves - just what I was looking for. I don't think they have failed I have them set around a building for scumbag burgelers I test them about twice a week, the transmitters are about 200 ft from receivers one transmitter is inside metal building unbeleiveable that the sighnal makes it out but it does ..OK That IS THE PROS PART HERE ARE THE CONS.... the receiver could stand to be a little louder, the way these work is each transmitter has its own number of beeps as the 1st beeps once the 2nd beeps twice on so on I have eight..if you don't here the first beep you might not get a second chance...most people could probably here them but some like myself playin in a rock band have a little hearing loss hahaha...wounder why ??/ anywyas I bought an extra receiver I have one in living room and one on bedstand about ... HELPFUL HINT... LIKE I STATED THERS IS A WAY TO USE MORE THEN ONE RECIEVER ALL YOU HAVE TO DO DURING SET UP IS PUSH THE SET UP BUTTON ON RECIEVER AT THE SAME TIME THEN PUSH THE SET UP BUTTON ON YOUR TRANSMITTER AND THEY SHOULD BOTH TAKE I HAD NO PROBLEMS WITH IT ...

This little unit works very well. My son has it set up a few hundred yards throught the woods at the beginning of the dual driveways. Simple set up. Anyone can set it up. Only downside is the alarm is not very loud. You will have to move it room to room if you really want a warning that someone or something goes by the sensor. This is the only reason that i gave 4 star and not 5. Overall for the reasonable price we are all happy!This little unit works very well.
