Good thermostatic controller for gas stove blower

I used this to control a small blower I added to my freestanding gas fireplace/stove. The factory blower kit was almost $300 and I had a 12v, 200 CFM muffin style fan laying around in my shop that I removed from another failed heater. Using a wall-wart power supply and this switch, I have a working blower for under $25. Being adjustable is nice because I was able to tune the temp at which the fan comes on so it only blows when the body of the stove reaches 120 degrees. That way I don't get complaints that the blower is blowing cold air. This helped make my gas fireplace/stove much more efficient.

    Inexpensive adjustable thermostatic switch

This is just what I needed to get a space heater fan to come on at a lower temperature

  • Great adjustable thermostat

Used this to replace a faulty thermostat controlling fans on fireplace insert. It was very easy to install. The best feature of this thermostat is the adjustability. Old thermostat was fans off at 100d, on at 120d. 100d air felt a little cool so I set the new one at 105d (and thus, 125d on). My first experience with an adjustable snap disc thermostat. Works like a charm!

  • Small Fan Control For Wall Gas Furnace (Modification)

This thermal disc has been in operation for over a month and has performed very well. When the ventless gas wall heater gets everthing hot the thermal disc turns on the small fan to distribute the residual heat left in the unit. When it cools to below 100 degree it kicks back off.

  • Klixon

I designed a high efficiency blower system for a ProCom ventless propane space heater. I wanted to make it an ‘auto on, auto off’ blower , switchable to manual if needed. I needed a variable setting temp switch so I could ‘tune’ the fan to the best turn-on point. After mounting it in the heat deflector, and wiring to the selector switch, the best kick on temp I determined to be just under 120 degrees. Now the heater works like a charm, with its thermostatic blower system. Supco is a good aftermarket component company. I’ve used their parts for years on appliances, as a major appliance tech.
