    Excellent Product

It was an exact fit to my old Dryer Kenmore model 66512690. Old motor part no. 3395652. I used it only two times so far and it is working excellent and running quiet. It came with the pluggable connecter to the old wiring harness. Only thing I noticed is this motor did not have a label to show its modelpart number, so if I need to replace it again I need to keep old motor part number safe. Thank You.

  • Top critical review

    Overall pleased..

Idler pulley squealed very loud after installation and the dryer was turned on. I will probably be putting the old one back in because it had some resistance and was smooth when I tried to spin it. The new idler pulley was very loose and seemed to have no lubrication. My assumption is that the idler pulley sat for too long maybe in a warehouse or something of that nature and lost its lubrication. I did take my dryer apart again to put grease on the new idler pulley but the grease seemed to only help for a bit. As of now it has started to squeal again. Maybe more quality control on these new idler pulleys. Only my opinion.. Thank You

  • drop-in replacement, runs quiet, assembled in Mexico

a drop-in replacement if your dryer uses the narrower drive belt (ours did). Spindle length and mount points were compatible. Seems quieter than the old motor. Assembled in Mexico, origin of components not marked. Nice and tight bearings, but more epoxy slop on the outside and the mounting plastic ring was not wiggle-free like on the old. Better than I feared, not as nice as the 25 year old original it replaces. Not sure yet if it was worth the higher cost over a generic.

  • Great replacement item with minor caveats.

This was a replacement for a Kenmore series 90 dryer motor and it was 1/2 the cost of obtaining an OEM motor. It also arrived VERY fast, packed well, and performed perfectly with only two minor issues: 1) There are actually two Kenmore motors used that have slightly different shaft lengths (according to an appliance repairman friend). This motor had a longer shaft and the fan that mounts to the end struck the shroud cover making a racket. I solved the problem by gluing a small fireplace gasket ($2) into the groove on the cover, giving an additional 1/8" clearance and solving the problem. The other minor problem was that the original motor had terminals for the switch that stops the motor if the dryer drum belt breaks. The new motor has no provision for this, but the problem is easily ...

  • Worked great but be prepared

This worked great but be prepared to put some work in to get it going. The spades are different sizes from the original so you have to cut wires and put smaller connectors on to make it work. I found this to be a bit inconvenient but not insurmountable. If you have never done this before you have to be careful that you use something that will pinch the wires to the connector. Not everyone has that tool but if you are careful you can probably get away with using a pliers of some sort. The instructions also did not show the reattachment of the ground wire but I figured it was the one on the face and connected it there.
