it dont say ripping chain any were on the package the chain comes in and the teeth on the chain are at a 45 degree not a 10 degree like a ripping chain i would say the chain is not described the right way the chain looks and cuts like a crosscutting chain so i give this a 3 but the price of the chain is great for either ripping chain or crosscutting chain

I have modified this review after a couple weeks of usage. The quality of the chain seems good. My original review stated that I would not be using this chain again as it leaves deep grooves in the wood. However, it should be noted that this does produce a rustic style of cut with considerable character. So, depending on your desired outcome, you may like the results. Finest chain i have used!!!
Ok, lets cut thru the wood..... This is the finest chain i have used. It doesn't stretch out and become mush. It cuts all day long and works like a champ. . This stuff is tougher than steel. I didn't have to stop one time doing two cords of wood and have to tighten the chain. It kept cutting all day long. It cut dirty wood and clean. I like this chain a lot!
