ESPN has jumped into cable television's original series pool with the poker drama TILT. With the World Poker Championship coming up, a group of players have begun to gather around The Colorado Casino in the city of sin, Las Vegas. At the center of the storm is Don "The Matador" Everest (Michael Madsen), recognized as either the world's best poker player or an unrepentant cheater, depending on who you ask. Eddie, Miami, and Clark are three young gamblers looking for revenge against the boastful Everest after the expert cleaned them out, while corrupt cop Lee Nickel believes Everest may know something about the murder of his brother. Moving from the bright lights of the Las Vegas casinos to the dark alleys of the criminal underworld, TILT has action that ranges from tense poker matches to fast paced shootouts. It was created by Brian Koppelman and David Levien, writers of the gambling film ROUNDERS.

    Entertaining and primarily for Texas Hold'em players

    This is an interesting series primarily geared towards people who play Texas Hold'em. It doesn't seem to have a lot of basis in reality, however it is entertaining with checkered heroes.

    Great Movie to Gift to a Husband

    My husband loved the mini-series on TV. So as a surprise I got it him for a Valentines Day Gift. What could be better: bright lights and hard nose Poker Players. I've been to Vegas a couple times and watch Poker on TV, so seeing the familiar sights, and a couple cameos by the likes of Phil Helmuth & Daniel Degreneau and more was cool. The story is engaging and never dull with all the underbelly vices Vegas is famous for popping up, like the gambling, violence, greed, and sex. So if you're man is into his weekly poker night with the guys, then this might be just the thing he'd like.

    Tilt: The Complete First Season (2005, DVD)

    I really liked this show. I understand many Poker players do not like the depiction of cheating in Poker. I feel if you just take this this show as it is meant to be as entertainment you will enjoy it. I think Michael Madsen was excellent in his role as the Poker shark,he really showed how shrewd Poker players can be.

    Poker with The Big Dogs!

    If you like Michael Madsen Movies and enjoy playing poker like me, then this DVD series is for you. Madsen makes a great Poker Shark, that bully's everyone who challenges him. I just wish they would focus more on the cards, instead of so much dialogue when they are playing a game.
