A very special movie.
This is an awesome movie, if you want to know a little about Cuban history this a good chance to know more about it in a very entertaining way. Andy García, Huffman, and Bill Murray, are playing the best performance ever.

The Lost City; the Cost of the 1950s Cuban Revolution
The Lost City portrays life as it was for an upper class family in 1950s Cuba and how the revolution against then dictator Battista affected this family. It portrays how the Castro regime promised change and democracy when trying to oust Battista, and how some were skeptical of Castro's intentions from the start. When Battista does finally leave Cuba and Castro's regime takes over, it gives a glimpse of how Castro treated Battista's men and how he decides to take over land and close establishments just by claiming them as his or giving irrational reasons. It merely touches on Castro's actions, as in reality, they were much more brutal. This story is a story of how these political changes affected the people of Cuba, as seen through this one family, rather than a ... As sad as it is to realize the plight of the Cuban people during this turbulant time, it shows the resilience they had to come here with nothing, work hard, and make a better life for themselves. The Lost City is a touching story and is a portrayal of Cuban history that many are ignorant of. Although based on fictional characters, it is a realistic illustration of historical events and gives insight into why many Cubans are still passionate about their homeland and their desires to one day see a free Cuba.

Great DVD. This is a DVD to put in and watch the whole DVD. The whole cast does a great job but Andy Garcia is fantastic. A must-see.

The Rhythm is Gonna Get You
This movie is phenominal! The emotion represented in the eloquent latin rhythm throughout the scenes excudes the passion, love, anger, confusion, sadness, mourning and other sentiments in each and every character. There is deep sorrow in my heart that Andy Garcia had to wait almost 2 decades before his movie became tangible to the cinema world. This is not only, in my opinion, his greatest acting role... but it is seen in my eyes as one of his greatest life achievements! The criticism received within the Hollywood world is falsely deserved. Yes, the movie was long... but, every frame was beautifully captured... every facial expression told the story... every musical instrument provided insight to the era and culture. There were bloody scenes, however done tastfully. The brutality was ... This movie is phenominal! I could do without... but, it provided a passion and pull for Garcia's character to possibly make other decisions. The extras in this DVD are also worthy of praise! I enjoyed those just as much as the movie itself.
