Used in a guitar for my 5 year old granddaughter

I got a hold of a small beginners guitar and decided to customize it for my 5 year old granddaughter. I wanted to make it special even though it was a pretty low end instrument to begin with, so I gave it a glitter finish under several coats of lacquer, bone nut & saddle, new tuners & nylon strings that will be easy on her fingers. I had to enlarge the hole for the end pin jack. The sound hole was too small to reach the optimal pickup location, so I had to settle for what I could reach. Cleaned the area with alcohol and installed it using the self stick backer. It's secure and works perfectly. It's not terribly loud plugged straight into my amp, but I was able to get a nice clean sound and a little bit of dirt with the gain turned up a little. I didn't get any feedback even though I ...

  • Top critical review

Looks good not so good quality.

Installation was fairly easy. The pick up was no problem, had to modify the tail piece to fit. When I plugged it into my amp, I had to wiggle the cord to get sound. I took the plug in back out and resoldered the connections and reinstalled.

  • Easy solution

Product works great on my acoustic guitar. Sounds true thru the amp. Installation was simple and straight forward, even in my old concert top 6 string with the small "F" holes. Very cost effective solution for electrifying without having to buy a whole new guitar.

  • Quick, easy way to electrify

This is the second one of these I've installed in an acoustic guitar. Works great, inexpensive, I just add a tiny dab of gel super glue in the center of the adhesive square and it stays on fine. Sound is true, plenty of output for an amp. End pin jack works fine and makes for as little alteration of the instrument as possible. Perfect solution if you want to electrify an acoustic guitar on the cheap. Not needing a battery to run a onboard preamp is an extra perk. I use an eq pedal if I need equalization. Very satisfied with the results, ease of installation and price!

  • Can't beat it for the price

I've bought several of these. Installed some in acoustic guitars, put one in a mandolin, and used two of them to build a couple of foot drum stomp boxes. Are there better pickups? Sure. For a lot more money than you'll pay for this. These pickups have done exactly what I wanted. Easy to install. I'll buy again.
