That way if there is rust or debris blocking the drain, all you have to do to clear it is poke through it after removing the core with a piece of stiff wire. Finding this type of drain cock is getting harder and harder. Thanks to TheMaytagShed I now have a removeable core drain cock for the engine oil cooler I'm installing. TheMaytagShed had the size I needed and shipped it fast. Thanks.
