Notes
After lauded indie albums, The Flaming Lips debuted on Warner Bros. With 1991's Hit to Death in the Future Head. Transmissions from the Satellite Heart and Clouds Taste Metallic followed. 1999's The Soft Bulletin topped numerous year-end best-of lists and helped rank the band among the most influential in the world. 2002's Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots ranked #4 in Spin and #11 in NME on their end-of-year lists, and won a Grammy. Most recently, the band's full length feature film and score album Christmas on Mars received critical acclaim at screenings across the country in 2008.

  • I Can Be A Frog

I could bore you with comparisons to prog bands and albums (Pink Floyd--Ummagumma, The Residents least melodic stuff). I could compare this to older Flaming Lips albums and explain that this really does sound like some of their older stuff. I could tell you to listen to this 50 times and I promise you will start to appreciate it. But all of that would be senseless because what it boils down to is if you are expecting another Yoshimi you WILL be disappointed. On the other hand, if you are brave and enjoy a crazy trip, lo fi soundscapes, and beautiful notes that most would consider noise you will love this. I have read very few middle of the road reviews on this one. It really is an either love or hate album. I fall into the love category. When I first heard it I thought it was pretty cool. ...

  • Great album

This is one of my favorite FL albums. It’s way more mellow than some others, but it’s true to FL and a great one!

  • Big fan but not of this

I like the vast majority of what the Flaming Lips have released but wasn't a fan of this album. There were maybe one or two good songs. I normally like their unique sounds and the way they bring them together in a smooth manner, but in this album, it wasnt fun to listen to.

  • Embryonic Thoughts

I love the Flaming Lips...just had to have it...I have every other disc they have so it was just a natural buy
