When I blew a head I decided to go with aluminum heads, so upgraded intake to a 4bbl, and a 1409 marine carburetor. Also went with marine hei distributor. Great results in take off and getting up on step. Installed on a GM 5.0(305) in a 30ft boat (one of twins. Cannot wait to get the other side done. Heads are great. Arrived quickly and were exactly what I needed.
