Very good but still not perfect
The item functions fine, but has some minor disadvantages: 1. Holes for spare screws (on the side) are too close to each other so the head of one screw doesn't let to put another one fully. 2. I don't now how it works with other glidecam brands, but you can use only one hole to mount it on HD2000 Glidecam plate as the distance between holes is slightly different. 3. It would be nice if the item had one more spirit level on the back as it would help to balance the glidecam more easy. DO NOT BUY! This item is cheaply made out of wood. The release plate jams when trying to remove it from base plate and that is while holding the relase button. You litterly have to use all your force to remove camera sometimes it just doesn't slid in/out smoothly how a metal one would.

I took a chance and bought this quick release and base plate. I am not sorry at all! Great quality and value. The base plate perfectly matches the plate for my Manfrotto 502AH. Now I can easily switch between my tripod video head and shoulder mount rail system or my slider. And I have a backup plate for my 502AH. It's a solid build quality too. Is not flimsy at all. I saw a YouTube video showing the plate sliding past the safety pin. I cannot reproduce that failure. My plate is held securely when locked in and does not slip out when not locked down. A nice quick release
Received the item rather quickly, but didn't use it until today. Found that the threads that attach the unit to the tripod base were a little under size, but they quickly cleaned up when I ran a tap through them, and attached to the base. No other problems have surfaced so far.
