About this product

Product Information

This step-by-step guide to building a lashed-frame, fabriccovered sea kayak is both a means to a sleek, fast, universally admired boat and an excellent introduction to woodworking and boatbuilding for hobbyists. The Inuit design scales up or down to fit the paddler and can be built using $150 worth of hardware-store materials, a few basic tools, and a minimal investment of time. Also included: plans for a low-volume version designed for Eskimo rolling; an especially stable version for children; and discussions of kayaking equipment, paddling, and rolling techniques.

As described... A+++ on shipping and price... C (and that's being generous) on time. If you have forever and a month of Sundays to wait around then by all means do so. The price was great and the seller communicated wonderfully and the item was packed well so it wasn't damaged during transit all A pluses in my book just took a little bit longer than I anticipated.

  • Great value for the money!!

I was very pleasantly surprised to find the book in nearly perfect condition!! It literally looks new. Very good price as well. The book is very concise, and takes the reader step by step through the process of building a classic Greenland kayak. The author also includes his modifications to the design to help the build along even more! The best part, is that at the end of the build, the reader has a custom fitted, handmade kayak and paddle.

  • Great book on the construction of these sturdy boats.

You need to have some basic woodworking skills, and need to be able to read between the lines at times, but overall a good guide. I have build several... really a fun project, and folks love to come see it when I am on the water.
