My Life Saver - Where I safely save life's data.
I've had my Palm 650 for 6 or 7 years - a "smartphone" before smartphones were common. It satisfies all of my needs - friends and business info, calendar, internet site passwords, miscellaneous info lists and on and on. I thought one of the new "smart" phones would be even better so I bought one; but I was WRONG!! Most of my Palm data was transferred but I lost some data a lot of control. After a week I moved my phone number back to the Palm 650 and gave my smart phone to one of my kids. I now have bought two more 650's and five batteries just so I will have a lifetime supply of backups. The Treo 650 computer software also is easy to sync the handset and safely save and backup fifteen years of my PDA contact info which I collect on earlier Palm's before migrating to the 650 PDA/Phone. It Helps to VERIFY before you Sell
This seller wrote all over the listing that it was a Palm Treo 650(P) with Tom Tom. I wanted the Tom Tom and a backup 650P for my curent one, and the Tom Tom is rarely seen. Turns out he forgot to verify - it was a Treo 700W, which does not sync with Palm Desktop. I proposed he could replace the Treo, but he begged off. I proposed he refund me $10 and we'd be square, but he wanted the phone, case & wall charger for that. I kept it, but gave him a neutral feedback after I was able to load the Tom Tom on my existing 650P. With the sale of Palm, and its place on the smartphone planet fading, plus the incompatibility of the decent Palm Desktop (vs the CRAP they made for Vista) for Vista or Win 7, I figure I'll have to eventually migrate to the 700W anyway, whose batteries and all other ...
