The only man I ever heard sing & play with Jimi Hendrix's timeless sound & spirit. Respectfully.

My Brother had the 8-track when it came out, knew of Trower from Procoul Harum (forgive spelling). Last time my Brother Pat had it on CD w/Bonus cuts (live versions) loaned it to a friend, didn't get it back, a misunderstanding. Saw it on the net when I tried to replace my Brother's, at the time, cheapest CD w/Bonus tracks was $49.00 plus shipping & handling. Good news waited patiently & checked, not sure it's the exact same Bonus cuts/tracks, but it was worth the price of admission

  • Bridge Of Sighs: Wonderful stuff.

This is wonderful stuff. When I first bought this on vinyl in '74 I thought it owed a little too much to Hendrix. Not anymore. Today I think it's fairer to say that this is Robin Trower style, as first witnessed on the stand-out track "Whiskey Train" on Procol Harum's "Home" album. There's nothing wrong with some inspiration from the great man, especially in the chords thrown in in the guitar solos. The compositions are great and the power trios performance is excellent. Apart from Trower's brilliant guitar playing, James Dewar's growling vocals are superb. There are so many great songs on this album, but "About To Begin" sends shivers down my spine. The BBC bonus tracks are also excellent, which can not be said for a lot of ...

  • Trower Triumphs

I was pleasantly surprised to find out this Bridge of Sighs album has bonus tracks.

  • A true classic with inprovements and added features.

A classic in every way. I purchased this album back when it first came out, and started calling Mr. Trower the white Jimi Hendrix. The sound and arraingment of the music is so simular and so well done I just had to get the c.d. eventually. And with the extra added items on this c.d. it was awesome to relive it's power once again. If you are a big Hendrix fan and haven't heard this one yet, please do yourself a favor and sit back with your headphones on and experience this album. It's well worth whatever you pay for it.

  • Great classic album, with bonus tracks

I like this album for the feel and groove of the songs. His use of the Univibe in his songs is great. I was going to buy his first album, but I bought this one first because "Lady Love", Too Rolling Stoned", and "Bridge of Sighs" were songs that I really enjoy listening to. The first half of the album are the songs that are on the original album, and the second half are BBC sessions, which are fantastic tracks and an added bonus. His style reminds me of Hendrix or Stevie Ray Vaughn, so if your into those styles, and haven't heard this album yet, check it out.
