About this product

Product Information

You can join young Lara Croft before her Tomb Raider days in a struggle for survival on an isolated tropical island. You can enjoy a reboot of the iconic series with this exciting game released in 2013. In Crystal Dynamics release of "Tomb Raider" for Xbox 360, published by Square Enix, you are Croft. Here, Lara is a recent graduate on a journey into the Pacific Ocean's dangerous Dragon's Triangle in a treasure seeking expedition with mentor Conrad Roth. A violent squall splits your ship in half and spits you up on an island teeming with dangerous terrain, ferocious animals, and fortune seeking scavengers. Your combination of exploration and combat game skills are all you have to make it out alive. Thanks to the "Foundation" gaming engine created by Crystal Dynamics, island adventure and treasure hunting may have never looked so good. You can enjoy beautifully rendered landscapes along with high quality game textures and models, and seamless full motion videos that make the most out of the Microsoft Xbox 360’s 500 MHz graphics processing power. You can see every leaf and vine as you traverse through the breathtaking jungles that cover the mysterious, unexplored island. You can feel the darkness surround you as you carry a flickering torch through dank caverns and a forgotten tomb. You can explore every nook and cranny in your search for treasure and survival. This landmark game can truly push Xbox 360 graphics to the next level. Players control the game through an over the shoulder, third person perspective. This view allows you to fully appreciate the motion capture technology animating the vividly detailed character models and gives a great angle on all the action. You can control Lara with ease as she climbs, zip, ducks, and dodges her way through a variety of beautiful and dangerous environments. The flexible combat system allows you to take your time and let Lara Croft conquer your enemies through stealth and cunning, or to charge in guns blazing. Lara has an arsenal of upgradeable weapons, from bows to assault rifles. You can customize your favorites into just the right tool to handle your enemies. With plenty of open, multi path locations, this game can be well suited to the multiplayer version of the action. Groups of survivors fight groups of scavengers in a variety of challenging modes and maps, with even more available through update and DLC. In games of Team Deathmatch, other players on the Microsoft Xbox 360 game network are split into teams of four. Each group vies for the most kills in a best of three scenario. Another mode, Private Rescue, finds the survivors in a desperate race to move medical supplies to a specific point on the map. The scavengers play to stop them and rack up kills. The third mode, Cry for Help, has survivors exploring the map in a search for the batteries their radios need as the scavengers attempt to defend them. With over 10 titles on a wide array of consoles, the Tomb Raider franchise is one of the most widely known console series successes in video games. "Tomb Raider" for Xbox 360 is packed with smooth and exciting combat and brilliant graphics. This unique blend of action, legend, adventure, and game exploration can have something for game fans of any genre as they join Lara Croft on her epic journey for survival.

Tomb Raider like I never imagined

It's dark, gorey, exciting, and more! Other tomb raiders that I've played Laura always seems to keep her cool and the game is more about the exploration and discovery. This Laura Croft is a young, inexperienced girl who had to find her will to survive. Other Lauras seem to handle the environments with a relative ease, whereas this Laura is punished by the environment at every turn. She's cold, shivering, dirty, scarred up, forced to adapt and adjust as she goes along, and has to survive against evil people who's reasons may be mirroring her own motives. I absolutely LOVE this game and I'm only at the 50% completion.

    Another good tomb raider

Not a bad game heaps of stuff to do. Smoother gameplay than the earlier games but don't have the same magic.

  • Outstanding Game

I already have Tomb Raider as part of my Xbox 360 (converted automatically to Xbox One). I am giving this game Tomb Raider: The Final Hours Edition to a friend for his birthday. I am sure he will like it. We both played the beginning Tomb Raider over 20 years ago, and we both loved it.

  • Nice Game but its Lacking in Action.

I expected this game not to disappoint, and it didn't. But I expected a bit more action from the game. Story-Line: I thought it was interesting. I really liked the way that bits and pieces of the story is dropped as you progress through the game and you don't come to a full realization of what happens until the end. Just think of the Blood Countess...watered down a bit. This is what disappointed me about the story: there should have been more to the tale. So it gets an 8/10. Action: You see alot of it. What I like about it is that they ease you into being able to grasp the concept of fighting. You start out with a few enemies but after awhile, you'll be encountering about 10-15 guys with HEAVY weapons--machine guns, dynamite, and shotguns. By the end of the game, that's all they really ...

  • Good reboot!

You gotta be crazy to not love this game. Well, paint me crazy then. Look, I wanted to love Tomb Raider. I really did. Crystal Dynamics did an astonishing job on crafting this origin story for the oft-drooled-over Lara Croft. The wonderful graphics create an environment which alternates between being lush and inviting to haunting and mysterious. The controls are crisp and easy to use, the music is epic, the mythology both of Tomb Raider and of the real life lost kingdom of Yamatai are interwoven seamlessly, and it really is an all around great game. But despite all that, I don't think I'll play through this one again. Before I catch a few arrows in the chest, I'll start off by admitting that I'm not a Tomb Raider buff. I've only ever played a few of them over the years and even ...
