With this model, water level is easier to determine than with Chef 's Choice 673; this model's translucent strip is clearer, and a tad wider. The base is extremely lightweight, and feels flimsy. But never mind how it feels: works fine. Time will tell how this kettle lasts; lookin' good so far, though.
