    small by comparison to today's drives but ..

    Adequate, especially as a replacement drive in a legacy system which hosts the old standard PATA/IDE drives - and can always be used as an external drive to store gobs of photos and personal data ..

    My old one perked up when the humidity dropped below 80%, so haven't used

    I haven't used it yet since my old HDD quit freezing after the humid rainy season left. I am sure it will work fine when I install it because it has not been tampered with, and my experience with new hard drives is they are stellar, but watch out for used ones. Yes, after weeks of 80+% humidity, moisture works it's way inside through the vent hole and gums up the platters temporarily. Such is life in August with a swamp cooler on the roof. Air quality and density does affect read/write head float. Most hard drives won't work in thin air at high altitude.

    good hard drive

    Hard drive very good quality, long life, secure data, good speed, easy to install in computer, replacing the bad one. Is not expensive and easy to use.

    Great product and works great with Power PC G4 Mac's. I highly recommend!!

    I was in the process of rebuilding an older Power/ Pc Macintosh and realized the new Sata drives were not compatible with the IDE connections on the motherboard. After playing with the idea of using an IDE to Sata converter, I thought for the money and reliability it was just best to replace the internal host 40 gig drive with a 160 gig. I was also unsure if an older computer would be able to utilize a drive with a Terabyte capacity. I felt safe with the 160. The drive arrived and I reformatted with the Apple Mapping system inside of the Disk Utilities and I have been very pleased with the performance of the drive. I recommend it and it definitely will prolong the life of your Power Pc G4....

    Great choice for everyday computing!!

    Quick, quiet, excellent transfer rate (for an IDE drive). If you are looking to upgrade a "little bit older" system with a decent size drive, look no farther! I installed this in my Mother's Dell Optiplex 270, to replace a 40GB drive that sounded like an electric train set running, & she couldn't be more pleased. With my sister & I sending her HD videos & HI-RES pics, she no longer has to worry about storage space.
