Must-Love Movie!
Must Love Dogs is an endearing tale of life and love after divorce. A woman gets cheated on and trampled by her husband, and from there embarks on a lonley life of dinners for one and endless blind dates set up by her well-meaning but at times clueless family. Her family, like her, are so easy to relate to it almost seems that at times they are your own family. The dog is ADORABLE. The story is better, dramatically illustrating the ups, downs, and not-so-hollywood comedies and tragedies of dating. In the end though, the story finds both characters where they belong and everyone lives happily ever after, which is of course what all us romatics wanted to see. But how we got there was refreshing and encouraging--uplifing comedy, heart-rending mess-ups, watching the characters bumble, ... Must Love Dogs is an endearing tale of life and love after divorce. This movie may have a somewhat slow pace for distractable viewers, but it is easy to appreciate. If you liked movies like While You Were Sleeping you will love Must Love Dogs. Happy viewing!

Love this movie...can watch it over and over. Diane Lane & John Cusack are perfect together in this...It's just an all over good movie. The humor is fun & clean...the movie has no nudity or vulgarity in it. It does have a spot or two that refers to a sexual situation, but it's done with taste and nothing like what you see on the screen today that's just too much and unnecessary. I can see this happening in real life with a very "big, caring, intervening" family/friend who has a heart a sad and lonely friend/family member.Love this movie...can watch it over and over. What a fun romantic comedy!
When I first saw the trailer for this movie I wondered if it would just turn out to be yet another cheesy, failed romantic comedy. But in my opinion, I was definitely wrong. The story line was fun and entertaining with out being too cutesy or overdone. I was pleasantly surprised to see how great the on-screen chemistry was between Diane Lane and John Cusak. Both actors are extremely talented in drama. But in this movie their comedic timing was fantastic. I actually laugh quite a bit. What a novelty! On the surface it seems like a classic chick-flick. But my 55 year-old father enjoyed it as well.
