Outstanding Comedy and Musical
Buck Privates was the break out movie for Abbott and Costello. Made right before the U.S. entered WW2, it is an outstanding comedy of the early 40s with some equally outstanding musical numbers by the Andrews Sisters. Their biggest hit, "Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy Of Company B" was written for this movie, and was well performed by the Andrews Sisters in song and dance. The movie is "remastered" and is sharpened with heightened black-and-white. A visual pleasure.Buck Privates was the break out movie for Abbott and Costello. Funny "40's" film with great music.
I was introduced to this movie when I was a kid in the "60's", watching it on TV with my Dad, and it stuck with me. It is very funny, with all of the crazy antics you'd expect from Abbott and Costello. Plus there's the perk of having some terrific Andrews Sister's performances throughout. I dare you to try not to dance or at least move your feet to their boogie woogie rhythm. The booklet with it is very interesting and informative. It made watching it, all the more enjoyable. these two guys are my most favorite, so it stands to reason that I should want this on the dvd & having it on Blu-ray is an Added Bonus. Its their first Movie and it is very Funny. Plus you get to see the Andrew Sisters Sing up a storm. I'm so Thrilled to have this Movie in my Collection. One of the Three Stooges shows up to add to the Mayhem. Great movie for all to See. THANK YOU. P.S. there is nothing to Dislike about this Movie.
