An old familiar friend
Used for copying archings on violins. This tool disappeared for over a decade and a half. By its nature - where wire gauges can get bent - this is a semi-parishable tool. My old one is in beautiful shape, however lost over four inches of wire over time. If you really like a tool, always buy a backup.

No guides for pins, pins can get out of place.
The metal pins are pinched in place by what looks like felt underneath the black body. There are no guides or grooves for the pins, so they end up tilting diagonally and the pins can actually overlap or bunch up. Also there is nothing to keep the pins from being pulled out altogether! I'm really hoping that the friction of the felt doesn't wear off, or else pins might fall out. The package arrived the standard wall hanging clear plastic, like you'd see at Harbor Freight. At this price it should have come with a reusable storage box.
