About this product

Product Information

In Teaching the Best Practice Way: Methods that Matter K-12 , Harvey Daniels and Marilyn Bizar present seven basic teaching structures that make classrooms more active, experiential, collaborative, democratic, and cognitive, while simultaneously meeting "best practice" standards across subject areas and throughout the grades. Unique in the field, Teaching the Best Practice Way speaks to all teachers, K-12, with stories, examples, and practical classroom materials for the teachers of all children. This is the book for teachers, schools, and districts that believe the big ideas about teaching really do cross all grade levels and subject areas. Education professors will also find this an ideal resource for use in methods courses.

This was a great deal for the book. The shipping was super-fast. The only complaint I have is that it wasn’t mailed in a bubble envelope, but instead a thin plastic envelope. By the time I received the book, there were rips in the plastic envelope with one at the base of the book being several inches long, in which that portion of the book was exposed. I’d highly recommend to the seller to use a bubble envelope, even if you have to add that additional price to the overall item price.

  • Future teachers should read this!

I bought this book for class. I am in an MIT program and I found this book really helpful for thinking about many different ways to get and use information when i am teaching. I think teachers of all subjects and ages would enjoy and get a lot out of this book. It has chapters about reading as thinking, representing to learn, small group activities, class workshops, authentic experiences, reflective assessment, interdisciplinary lessons and much more. Great for lesson planning!
