I loved this book!
I bought this book because of my familiarity with the authors from their participation in the Antiques Roadshow, and because of my own interest in collecting. I found Leigh & Leslie to both be entertaining and knowledgeable authors, and it was a delight to read about their experiences with antique dealing. The pieces and stories that they chose to highlight in their book were all very interesting to learn about. I'm not usually much of a non-fiction reader, but I couldn't put this book down and found myself a little sad when I was done. I would heartily recommend this book to anyone with an interest in antiques collecting.I bought this book because of my familiarity with the authors from their participation in the Antiques Roadshow, and because of my own interest in collecting. The Hidden treasures- Leslie and Leigh Keno
I bought the book because I attended the Antique Roadshow in Philadelphia in August 2006. I met the Keno brothers , got a behid the scenes look at the show, got their autographs etc. I bought the book because of its reasonable price, topic and buy it now. I bought it for one of my friends who attended the trip with me for a birthday gift. The photo's are great!!! It shows the Kenos as young boys attending Flea markets. There first purchases.Then it shows how they progressed into being furniture experts placing values on items in the six figure range. A True Learning Experience about Early American Furniture
I am an antique, vintage, and contemporary art dealer as well as a dealer in smaller antiques and Early American primitives so when I saw this book on searching for masterpieces of Early American furniture, I was intrigued. Knowing I did not know enough about larger pieces of furniture from different periods, I found this book written by Leslie and Leigh Keno absolutely fascinating and thoroughly informative as it provided wonderful photos to go with the luminous descriptions of their finds throughout the years. I have learned so much and know anyone who loves antiques will enjoy this well written book by the Keno brothers. The Hidden Treasures book...
I really enjoy reading about the history of everyday items. Furniture is something we take so for granted, yet, it has an amazing history. The title and short summary was enough to get me interested in purchasing the book. It was a great buy!
